A Brighter Rain

Since Sean had moved along with the rest of his survivors, they were able to pick up a regular life else where. It had become all the more easy to forget about the once rampaging disease that turned everyone rabid. Even developing a cure. He couldn't help think of what could've been if Andrew had held in just a little longer. It didn't matter. It couldn't matter anymore. 
He tilted his head back and looked up at the clear blue sky and sighed. Even in the mass havoc, they had fond a peace no where else could show. Andrea was now five, and Christopher was three. She always had an eye out for her baby brother. And the two got along great with Matthew, Juliet, Alice, and Savannah. It was almost scary how much Matt looked and acted like his father even at such a young age. It hurt a bit to think about Violet. How much she would've cared, and held the boy to her. Nevertheless he didn't doubt Sophie was a great a parent as she could be. But Juliet and Alice... The two always swallowed his attention. His best friend's children. Deciding to keep his mind clear he walked over and began to grill. They were having a cookout at a park where the kids could play and everyone was together.
Christopher fell and whimpered when he scratched his knee and began to cry.
Andrea looked down at her brother and frowned. "Mommy, he fell."

"Walk it off baby." Petra called over to him.

Juliet ran around and suddenly ran right into Savannah who began to cry and ran to her mother.

Alice watched from the top of the monkey bars sticking her tongue out Savannah who was crying. She and her sister were extremely hyper compared to the others.

Christopher face planted into the ground.
Andrea looked down at him and walked away then looked at Savannah who scurried off to her mother.

Matthew pushed some dirt into his fathers cheeseburger before hiding under the table and watching.

Erick took a bite of his burger not noticing his son's actions and spit out the food in disgust. "What the fuck? The hell you put in here Sean?"

Sophie burst out into a fit of laughter as she watched her son' actions

Savannah hugged her father's leg as she cried.

Juliet shrugged and climbed up to go be with her sister.

Dean picked up his daughter and nuzzled her. "What is it princess? Are you okay?"

"I didn't do anything. If you look under the table you'll put pieces together." Sean  said and walked over to go pick up Christopher. "What are you doing little man?"

Christopher mumbled something and looked down. 

Erick looked under and narrowed his eyes at his son. "Go be bad somewhere else."

Alice looked at her sister as a question popped into her mind. She slid down off the monkey bars and let go then wondered over to her mother. "Where did they get a daddy? I want one. Can I go get one?"

Savannah continued to cry and nuzzled against him.

Juliet frowned at her sister, they weren't supposed to ask about that.

Shilo shook her head and remained quiet.

"I'm sorry baby." Dean said and held her close in his arms. "Do  you want ice cream?"

Alice grew frustrated. "It's not fair."

Chase stood by the park watching the families and huffed. It had been three years since he had last seen his own. Since he had gotten back with Rory, he hadn't been too concerned. He had been occupied with their two year old son Nickolas anyway.

Savannah nodded and sniffled a bit.

Juliet gestured for her sister to come back over.

"Let's get some ice cream then." Dean said and walked over to get ice cream for her, himself, and Carter. He walked over to her and passed her her ice cream then kissed her a few times. Since he had married her he had become as affectionate as he could be.

Alice scurried off to her sister. "I want a new mommy, and a new daddy." She grumbled. 

Erick pulled Sophie away so they could talk away from the others. "The reason why I'm still with you is because I love you. You're the best parent to Matt. I want a bigger family  with you Sophie, we need to make something happen."

Christopher slid down from his fathers arms and climbed a tree hanging upside down from it in front of her obviously angry at her.

Savannah stopped crying and enjoyed the icecream happily.

Juliet frowned. "That's mean Alice."

Sophie shook her head. "I can't."

"I know you can't." Erick responded. "And it pisses me off that you can't."

Alice looked at her oddly. "I know it's mean."

Dean passed Carter her ice cream and continued to kiss her cheek then her neck.

Carter smirked a bit. "Stop."

Sophie sighed. "Well there's nothing you can do..."

Juliet shook her head. "Don't say stuff like that."

Erick only scowled. "I don't want to leave you Sophie." He murmured.

"Why?" Alice asked.

"What?" Dean grinned still kissing her neck. "I know you want to fuck." He whispered in her ear.

"Not here." Carter whispered.

"Because she is our mommy." Juliet muttered.

"You're going to leave me after I told you that this is who I am?" Sophie snapped.

"I've been with you for four years, I am in love with you but im telling you I want a bigger family." Erick argued back angrily.

Chase walked back into the apartment and over to Rory. "How's Nickolas?"

"Yeah so what?" Alice asked. "Doesn't mean I can't get a new one."

Carter took his hand gentlY.

Juliet stuck her tongue out at her.

Rory shrugged. "He's asleep."

"That means if we don't come up with something, I'm leaving." Erick mumbled.

Matthew ran over and crawled onto his mom hugging her tightly. "Creepy mama, creepy, he tried to touch." 

Alice pushed her playfully and began to run.

Chase walked over to his crib and looked down at him then walked back over to her. "We should take him out more often."

Dean pulled away and offered her her ice cream and began to eat his own.

Carter ate her icecream slowly.

Sophie glared at him. "Fuck you Erick." She growled and picked up Matthew. "What baby?"

Rory nodded and yawned. "I haven't gotten any sleep."

"Sorry." Chase frowned. "Rory if you need help you gotta let me know."

Erick scowled back at her and fell silent at his sons words.

"Creepy, creepy!" Matthew repeated. His parents had warned them of what to say when somebody tried to come onto him or take him away. 

Dean leaned over and licked her ice cream despite having his own.

Carter huffed and shoved it in her face.

"Who?" Sophie asked quickly.

Rory nodded. "I do need help."

Dean grinned at her and licked her face.

Matthew pointed to the figure who was now running. 

Erick watched the man. He now had an idea of what  he looked like.

Chase nodded. "Okay." He said and looked at Nickolas who had begun to stir awake.

Sophie set down Matthew and bolted after him, she was pretty fast.
"stoppp." Carter giggled.

The man glanced back and continued to run.

Erick looked at Matt. "Stay with uncle Sean." He said and ran after Sophie. "What are you doing!"

"You taste good." Dean commented.

"Creepy." Carter grinned.

Sophie tackled him to the ground and began to punch him rapidly.

"Get off!" The man snapped and turned to begin beating the woman.

Erick grabbed the man and pulled him off beginning to kick, punch, and slam his head into the ground until he felt the man go limp beneath him. He pulled away and looked down at the guy in disbelief. Had he just killed a man? He swallowed and turned away.

"I know." Dean smirked.
